Hi, hello, it’s me again.
I’m hoping to write on here just a little more frequently since my Sundays feel like real Sundays.
So just a recap on the last few months!
Early in November, I had my third miscarriage in 2024. I had accidentally gotten pregnant right after the D&C. And I was in such a weird space emotionally. I didn’t want to be pregnant, and I didn’t want to get my hopes up. But I felt guilty for not wanting to be pregnant and worrying. And then the week of my first appointment I lost all my symptoms and started spotting. I passed the fetus a few days later. It was the most horrific pain I think I’ve ever experienced. So much pain I was puking.
And now, we are taking a break. Discipline, and going to take the year probably to just focus on our health (not working so great), building back our savings, focusing on school, and just trying to set ourselves up for success in the future. There’s a lot to unpack when it comes to the topic of the miscarriages and I don’t think I have the time or fortitude of thought to put them all here. Let’s just say pregnancy and the future are a twisted complicated idea in my mind.
In November we drove all over timbucktoo and back. We went down to Utah for a couple days, saw my friends, spent time with family, and loaded the trailer with all our stuff from storage in Niki’s basement. We drove up to Chester, unpacked and spent a few days here. Nice to have a bed instead of an air mattress. We then went back down to Utah for Thanksgiving. Had a wonderful meal, and overall a good time with family. We met up with some of Trevor’s friends, and just an overall good time with loved ones.
Thank goodness for my FIL for helping us.
We drove back to Stanley, stayed the night, and then took off the next day for Boise. We got ice cream with Syd that night and it was so good to catch up. The hotel I booked, I specifically booked it because they had an airport shuttle. Our flight left at 5:30am. So I asked for a 3:30 shuttle. Their first one is 4:12. Hm. Do we drive? Do we park at the airport?
Well, We figured… it’s the first flight of the day, security can’t be THAT busy.
BOY WAS I WRONG.
We got the airport and the line was INSANE. I had already checked in online, so all we had to do was check our beg. Just needed to print a bag tag and drop it off.
Well. Every single one of their machines crashed.
Every. Single. One.
The lady working moved the lines. We got in line. I saw the machines start up again. I told Trevor to stay in line, I went and printed our bag tag, and got back in line.
In the line mix-up, the lady in front didn’t have a bag tag and the lady who was directing traffic yelled and asked if anyone had a bag tag! I YELLED THAT I DID, cut in front of line, and we started to book it towards security.
We go through security and I get stopped because of the change in my wallet. *eye roll*
We make it to our gate with like 20 minutes to spare.
Well, guess what? Our pilot didn’t show up. We had a 40 minute layover in Seattle. And our flight was not delayed because the pilot didn’t show. They call another pilot and we get on the plane. We land in Seattle with 10? minutes to make our flight. Trevor gets to the front of the plane as fast as possible and sprints to our gate. They held the doors for us.
WE MAKE IT.
Next stop, MEXICO!
We land, find our shuttle driver, find Trevor (Roger’s son) and make our way to the resort. We get checked in… and our room is NICE. HUGE soaker tub. Large king bed. LUXURY.
The trip, was amazing.
We went to Chichen Itza, and to a cenote.
We went ATVing and into an underground cave.
We had some authentic Mexican tacos.
Trevor got sick and probably pooped 40+ times in 48 hours (poor guy). We drank virgin drinks, we ate at the restaurants, we swam in the ocean and just had a wonderful time with my family.
Flying home was pretty uneventful.
A few weeks later we went to Oregon for Christmas. I surprised my mom didn’t tell her that I was coming. It was fun to be with my family. It was pretty low-key but we had a great time.
First few days of January, we moved.
We packed Gary’s trailer in a blizzard and made the haul down the river.
We got unpacked.
We unloaded. Started to hang art up.
And it feels like, all that we are missing now is a kitchen table.
The office/guest bedroom is organized chaos.
But, it’s our home.
It’s been an ADJUSTment working from home. With one car. And not enough money to get a gym membership.
Things are tight.
Sunsets here are incredible.
We play picketball or raquetball once a week.
I have a calling in our new ward.
I bake usually once or twice a week.
Just living life.
