A race or a game?
I fall once and I can't get up
I am sick of this cycle the time is stopped
The game is over and I'm on the ground
I hear the buzzer but its the last sound
I get up and I'm ready to play
But all that I hear is "todays your last day"
I plead and beg but all that I hear
Is that the time is over, good bye my dear
I wander and stumble and find my way through
I am tired of wondering if it is all true
I find my answers through the old written word
The question is simple but the solution absurd
I want to be better I want to be best
I want to be the top with a fire in my chest
I reach for the top but I am too short
No one to help, the ball's in my court
I guess you could say I am tired of this game
I am tired of trying, its driving me insane
I want to win but I don't want to work
All that I see is the pain and the hurt
I've decided that living is a race never won
But why stop racing because winning is fun?
The race is not about who ends at the top
Its all about the work and who never stops
You may have ended first, you may have ended last
the only thing that matters is that you have passed
Even though you fall and even though you crash
You got to get up and wipe off the ash
Get on your feet, get back to the game
You know if you quit it will drive you insane
So who cares it fall down flat on your face
Life is a beautiful, competitive race
