Oh my, weren't we adable? |
These three men have been my best friends for as long as I can remember. These men have been there with me through thick and thin. These men have taught me what family is all about. I love these men.

Epic Picture, am I right? |
He was 3 1/2 years old when I was born. He was the guinea pig. He was also the coolest person that I had ever known. We got along great when I was little.. but when I was going through middle school... it was rough. We fought. And we were mean to each other. Truth be told, I didn't like him at all. I thought he was a dumb, stupid, pig-headed boy. (Sorry bro, but my 12 year old mind thought you were).
Once I got to high school things got different. I cherished that 20 minute 5:45am ride to seminary because that was time for just me. That was special time with my brother as he taught me his "car-dancing" dance moves, talked to me about how my classes were going, sang at the top of our lungs, ran out of gas on the side of the road, fell asleep, and just spent time with each other.
Little did I know how hard it was going to be fore me for him to leave for his mission. I don't think I realized how much of a Father Figure that my older brother had taken on. I didn't realize the connection I had with him, and when he left that absence was poignant. I used to go sit out in his car while he was on his mission just because I missed him. I used to go through his clothes to smell his smell. I would smell his letters because he would spray them with his cologne.
First off, I have to tell you how much a butt my brother is. When Ammon (Man #2) and I were on Pioneer Trek-- Brandon got his mission call. Does he love us enough to wait to open it? NOPE! HE OPENED IT WITHOUT US! (Yes, I am still bitter about it.)
Anyway,
I saw my brother working to save money for a mission. I saw my brother studying his scriptures, and studying preach my gospel. I saw him leave to go to meetings with the bishop and stake president for his mission papers. I was there when he bought his suits. I was there when he got his shoes. I was there when he was set apart. But,
It didn't hit me that he was leaving until December 28th, early in the morning, at the Portland Airport. I grabbed him into my arms, and I sobbed. I cried and I got those shutters that you get when your body is in agony. My brother was crossing oceans and it felt like my best friend was leaving me. I felt like a piece of my heart was being ripped out as he checked through security. My heart was leaving me for Samoa as he walked down the hall and never looked back.
Let's just say that I wrote him a lot of letters and we got SUPER close. I missed that man.
I admire this man with everything inside of me. He has taught me what it means to honor the priesthood. He has taught me what it means to give service to other people. He knows how to apologize swiftly, and mean it. He is adventerous-- (Goes Scuba Diving, Rock Climbing, Bought a motorcycle, goes Toad Hunting, Goes Regular hunting, he is training for a marathon) he is just one of those people that does EVERYTHING and I think that is THE coolest thing ever! He has a weird sense of humor... and when we are on the same wavelength I laugh until I cry. He is SUPER competitive and that means he pushes me to be my best. (I think that's why I hated him when I was younger... because he was always better than me at everything-- and still is). He is tad bit sexist, but he still supports my feminist views.
This man believes in me. He tells me that I can do it when I don't believe it myself. He tells me that I am beautiful, he tells me what I need to hear when I need to hear it. He gives great hugs, and some of my favorite memories are when he would crawl into my bed and we would watch a movie or just talk.
I love this man.

He speared us a fish for dinner... but he didn't know how to fillet it. Let's just say I didn't eat any of his nasty |

I guess you could say he was cute? |

Ladies, He's Single! And he's a stud. |
Bro, thanks for being a best friend, someone to look up to, an example, and the coolest older brother on the face of this earth. Brandon Wayne, I love you and miss you!
Man #2:
I was 2 when I found out I was getting another brother. The only way to describe this man is that he is pretty much "me" but in a cooler, much more awesome male version. He is a STUD! And I mean he is a LADY KILLER! (See picture above for evidence... ignore the toilet in the background). Also, he is HILARIOUS! He can have me rolling on the ground laughing my guts out. All the time, any time.
One thing I love about this man is how good he is with people. I took him to his first stake dance and I told him I would pay him a dollar for every girl (that wasn't in our ward) that he asked to dance. And man he wasn't afraid to go up to those girls. And he even took the time out to dance with his ugly-old sis. (And sorry bro, I think I still owe you $15). He loves people. He is good with em'. Especially if you can get his hick charm going.
This man loves the outdoors. He is what you would term a "mountain man". We got up to the mountains behind our house to shoot the guns. He goes out to feed his pigs. He goes out to work in the garden. He goes camping. He goes hunting. He goes fishing. He is DECKED out in camouflage from head to toe. HE LOVES country music (THANK YOU because so do I). I love you consider yourself a red-neck. Even if it drives me crazy sometimes ;)
Ammon (Amy), I love that you call me Sis.
I know we fight a lot, but that's just because we are both stubborn as a mule, hard-headed, and you can't accept the fact that I am always right;) I love how hard you work. AT ANYTHING. You put 100% percent into everything you do. I admire that. A lot.
I love that I can tell you anything. I trust you with my secrets and my doubts. I love that you're a good hugger. And I love how you aren't afraid to put it all out there.
Little brother, I love you! I miss you like crazy. I love how close we have gotten the past couple years and I am glad that I can call you one of my best and closest friends.

Man #3:
The first real distinct memory of this man was when I was in pre-school and I got to bring him for Show and Tell. I mean, who doesn't want to bring their brother? His newborn self was THE cutest thing on the face of the earth. This boy has turned into a man. He has the priesthood, and he is doing the things that he knows he should.
Sometime at this man is his love for babies. When my baby cousin was born he was a MAGNET to that baby. He wanted to told her, love on her, stop her crying. He has ALWAYS been that way. Even though he puts on his big tough face--> That tender side melts my heart.
It always seems that this man knows when I am upset or something is wrong. A simple, "Hey, are you okay?" from him could make me feel loved, noticed, appreciated and cared for.
One thing about this boy, is he LOVES candy. When he was little my mom asked him where he wanted to serve his mission when he was older and his reply was, "Candyland".
When I was in elementary school and he was still too young for school... I would come home and be furious. You want to know why? Because all of my Halloween candy from the night before (and I mean ALL of it) would be gone with only the wrappers remaining as evidence. I was furious. And you think this happened one time? Nope, it happened for years! I would even hide my candy and he would still find it and eat it. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he was looking out for my overall health. (hah).
Also, this kid is funny. Hilarious. He has that dry sense of humor that seems to be more intelligent than everybody else and when you finally get it you realize how funny it was.
This man pretty much ROCKS!
Little man, I love you! I think you are smart, funny, athletic, curious, sexy (yup, I said it), and awesome.

Here's to the nerf wars, the paintball wars, the camping, and the fighting. Here's to the late nights and early mornings. Here's to the cuddling and the pushing, and the monopoly deal tournaments. Here's to the all night FIFA tournaments and the gross snapchats. Here's to hiking, shooting, and the soccer playing. Here's to all the "titty dances" that you guys have showed me. Here's to the hilarious jokes and the awesome times.
Here's to the pieces of my heart that you guys have. Here's to the most amazing brothers a girl could have.
I miss these men. I love these men. Thanks for showing me what being a "man" should truly mean.
