Summer may be over, but the fun sure isn't

So what is summer is already over?... I still have to mention one of the best few weeks of my summer!

Soooooooooooo......
A wedding is a perfect excuse for a road trip, right???? My gal Toni flew out to Oregon for a bridal shower (BECAUSE SHE WAS GETTING MARRIED!), we drove the next day to Salt Lake, I dropped them off at the airport, and made my way up to Idaho Falls. It was an 18 hour day. I drove through the worst rain storm of my life (fearing that I would literally die... and it didn't help that my best friend had just been in a severe accident involving water and hydroplaning) and I thought I was going to get struck by lightning. But hey, I did it and it was worth it because I MADE IT!
I looked DISGUSTING from being in a car for so long, but man I was excited to see her!
I got to Idaho Falls, got to see my best friend from college (whoop whoop), and meet her absolutely AMAZING family (and her hateful ugly dog whom I really love but still kinda hate. Kinda). I got a tour of the house and then... Well......... Let. The Adventures. Begin.

Thursday: got up, took a shower and somehow fell back asleep. (Yes, I slept forever). I finally woke up when Sierra got home from work and we just chilled for a couple hours until I got the first of many amazingly awful crossfit workouts. Man, I have missed working out her-- even though she KICKED my booootay... but hey, what's new? We went on a nice little jog (and when I say "nice" i mean that my legs were on fire and I thought I was going to die... okay, not really... but you catch my drift) after our work out and then came back and had a YUMMY dinner (Taco's) and then we just hung out and chilled! We eventually made our way downstairs and had a little bit of Mario Kart action (I actually won a couple races) and broke into our super competitive sides. We said goodnight and prepared ourselves to sleep. And man, my bed was COMMMMFY! (I will forever be in love with bed. And Sierra, when your parents are like 305 years old and die- I claim that bed out of their belongings).

Friday:  The morning rolled around and I almost pooped myself when Michele's (Sierra's Mom) voice came over the intercom asking if Lyndsey was awake. I was half tempted to reply: "I'm not Lyndsey, and I don't know how to work this thing, but I am awake and I peed myself.".
But I didn't. Instead, I made a couple of moans and rolled myself out of bed. We went and worked out that morning (my second day of death), and then Sierra had to go to work. Soooooo, I got to hang out with the Raddest Pal I Know---- (Otherwise known as Lyndsey) and with Michele (who has basically become my second mother).

That weekend I got to go on a date with Todd and Michele, we got to go kayaking (I was proud of myself for being the only person to catch a fish.... granted it was only like two inches....), bike riding, I got to hang out with some of THE coolest people. I got to attend their stake conference, go searching for owls [and unfortunately we didn't find any], and just be around some amazing genuine people.

Bike rides and some shaved ice with this cool crew

Monday: Alright, so on Monday we got to head over to Wyoming to a day full of awesomeness and super hecka fun. We took a tram up 10,000 feet into the Tetons, we went hiking, bought some ugly shirts and survived through a storm while we received dinner and a show from some real cowboys. Let's just say that IT WAS AWESOME! (But honestly, almost every single part of this trip was awesome [see pictures below for evidence]

This right here is what true friendship looks like

I thought I was funny?

Always cracking jokes about something

Pretty much some of the coolest and swaggiest people that I know

Wednesday: This was the day I thought I was going down to Utah for the wedding. WRONG! I said my goodbyes to Lyndsey and Todd.  We went and worked out that morning, went on a run and hung out until I packed up my car. We were about to say our goodbyes and BAM my car won't start. Go figure. (Yes, Mom, you were right-- I give you all the freedom to say "I told you so"). We had family friends come over and look at the car and unfortunately they could not find out what was wrong with it. Off to the mechanic. Guess what? Yup. My car was toast. Well crap. I was in another state, no car and I needed to get down to Utah for Toni's wedding. Not only that, I had to figure out a way to get home. A plane ticket it was. I guess it turned out to be only half of a road trip...

Lucky for me that weekend Sierra and her fam were heading down to Salt Lake that next weekend. They let me crash their party and hang out with them in Salt Lake for a couple of a days. We got to go to the zoo, I got a tour of temple square, we got to go to Music and the Spoken Word... basically it was another AWESOME part of my trip!

So uhhh, let me tell you a story
about a couple of bald eagles

A little bit of sisterly loving

We. Are. So. Cute

Awwwwww

Alright, so Sunday finally rolled along and I actually had to say goodbye to my best friend her family (which I pretty much consider my own family now anyway). That part sucked... especially because the trip was so awesome... but it was now time to focus on Wedding stutffffff!!!!!

You know, we got that girl across the alter. Her wedding was awesome and amaizing. Her reception was awesome and amazing. This girl is awesome and amazing. I'm glad that I actually got to make it down there for the wedding and that I got to spend some valuable time with this girl before she got hitched.

Toni, I love you girl! And I hope that married life is treating you as good as you deserve!! Make sure you are always treated like the queen that you are! I love you!

The last part of summer included another road trip... this time all the way from Oregon to Virginia. That's right, all the way across the country. Man it was fun, but it was long. And let me tell you, the United States has got some UGLY places. (*cough* Nebraska) (*cough again* Wyoming). But it was awesome. We made more memories to add to the book, and we made it home.

Let's just say that Mac enjoyed her naps while I drove
Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to introduce the "Triple Threat"

Just a little pit stop in

Let us all just take a second to
appreciate Mac's face...

I believe that most people call them "hands", Sierra

You know, summer is over. I got to do a lot of awesome things. I got to do lots of hiking, lots of time with my family, lots of time at work and an awesome trip up to Idaho where I got to meet, bond and spend time with my best friend and her amazing family.

Yes, summer is over. But it's okay because I am way BEYOND excited for what this next year is going to bring. Being a sophomore, a returning player on the soccer team, in my own apartment, at the greatest school for me and surrounded by my best friends is going to be the funnest year yet.

2015-2016, I am ready for you.
Let's do it.
