Went over to Arizonas for Sunday dinner (as usual), had delicious shrimp Alfredo and mediocre apple crisp. (Don’t worry, I made the apple crisp- I’m not being rude.
This kid Nate came.
He has been home from his mission for 5 years, away from the church for 4. We were in the middle of an intense game of Mario Bros and he so casually ask’s “Can I ask you guys a spiritual question?”
My mind was so intent on trying to multitask, but I couldn’t. Finally I had to pause the darn game (that I was winning y the way) and for the next 2.5 hours we had one of the most spiritually searching discussions I had ever had before.
It hurt my heart because I know he wants answers to his questions. I hate not having the answers. And now I feel compelled to make his search my search. I. Want. Answers.
Also, lots of doctrinal questions came up for me this week. I think I will talk to Bishop Rasmussen this week about it.
Also, Arizon’s roommates cat is an embodied Satan. Hate him. Although, we seem to be best friends. It’s complicated.
This week was officially the weirdest. And it just got weirder.
Anyway.
Watched the movie avatar. One of my housemates full-on, uncontrollably sobbed. Didn’t realize that people could emotionally connect with blue cat-lookin’ people. Learn something new every day.
Mom told me they have to put my dog down this week. My heart is breaking a little. She’s old and she’s had a good life. She is seriously so BA. Like,
Forced myself to get out of the house and go to SVUIdol- it was pretty good. Glad I went. Went with Arizona and Kylie and my roomies.
Also.
GUESS WHAT?
Kylie is Arizon’s roommate who is from Silverton. Her fiancé is a convert to the church, and his missionary is COLE THOMPSON! Isn’t that crazy?!?! SMALL. FREAKING. WORLD.
I worked the men’s lax game, sat right behind the teams. I just about froze to death. Took me a couple of hours to de-thaw. Saw a coach scream the “f” word and throw a water-bottle off the premises. The opposing team was yelling out *ish like, “They’re Mormons and they’re virgins, can’t get worse than that” - I never wanted to fight an ugly lax boy so bad. But it’s okay. It was a fun game to watch.
I got to go to the family ward and help out in their Young Women’s class. It felt good to be teaching again. I LOVE the youth. I was reminded by my friend Ryan that I’m not allowed in the family ward because I’m single ✌🏼 Thanks bud.
The family ward is way better than the YSA here.
I’m grateful that Arizona is out here at school. I’d be drowning without her.
I decided I’m going to get a psychology minor
Oh yeah! One more thing.
I finally got cleared by the doctor to play soccer (with a lecture about my blood pressure) and it was my first week back in the weight room. That being said, I was so sore and I walked around campus like I had a stick up ass. 🙂
Love you all.
